The short version
This is the plain-English answer library: five short guides on the AI questions Sydney trade owners actually ask, before they ever talk to us. Each guide states plainly what’s a measured result, what’s a typical range, and what’s just our honest opinion, with real sources linked wherever a number needs one.
Which guide answers your question?
Five guides, no filler. Each one answers a single question straight, in plain English, with the numbers hedged where they need to be and sourced where we can source them. Pick the one that matches what’s actually costing you time or money right now.
How to stop missing calls as a tradie
Up a ladder when the phone rings? What a missed call actually costs you, and the honest options for getting it answered without hiring anyone.
What does an AI receptionist cost in Australia?
What phone answering built for your trade actually costs here, from a cheap stand-alone tool to a proper done-for-you build, so you know what you’re comparing.
Voice-to-quote explained
How talking into your phone on-site turns into a ready-to-send quote, what it takes to set up, and where a human still needs to check it.
What is an AI take-off?
What an AI take-off tool actually does with a set of drawings, and the real result it produced at Daniel’s own Sydney firm.

Common questions
Who actually writes these guides? +
Matt and Jayden write them, and Daniel checks every number against a real source before anything goes up. Nobody’s outsourcing this to a content mill. More about who we are ›
Are these guides just a sales pitch? +
No, and we’d rather you thought less of us than caught us pretending otherwise. Each guide says plainly what’s a measured result, what’s a typical range, and what’s just our opinion.
Why do some numbers say ‘usually’ or ‘typically’ instead of a hard figure? +
Because FKD is new and hasn’t got years of client numbers to average from yet. Where we don’t have a measured result, we say so and give you an honest range instead of dressing up a guess as a fact.
How often do you update these guides? +
Whenever something changes that would change the answer: pricing moves, a tool updates, or we learn something new on a job. Each guide carries a ‘last reviewed’ line so you know how fresh it is.
Where should I start if I don’t know which guide I need? +
Start with the guide that matches what’s actually costing you time or money: missed calls, quoting, take-offs, or getting more out of AroFlo or ServiceM8. Each guide stands alone, so there’s no set order, just start with whatever’s biting hardest right now.
Are these guides written for tradies specifically, or just general advice? +
Specifically for Sydney trade and construction business owners already running AroFlo, ServiceM8 or Simpro. We’re not writing generic advice for any small business; every example and number in here comes out of a construction or trades job.
